The service provides:

Eligibility criteria

Inclusions

  • BMI over 40kg/m2 or 35-40kg/m2 with the presence of other significant disease
  • Morbid or severe obesity present for more than 5 years
  • Attended a non-surgical tier 3/4 specialist obesity weight management programme for 12–24 months (6 months if BMI over 50)

Referral to the Tier 3 Homerton Specialist Weight Management service is a pre-requisite for pre surgical patients.   Please refer to the EBI policy.

Service Name: Post-Operative Bariatric Service - Outpatients 2 or Pre-Operative Bariatric Service - Outpatients 2

Please ask the patient to complete a patient questionnaire (See Downloads) to take with them to their first appointment along with a copy of their recent prescription medications.
