The service coordinates supplying dressings to local GP Practices and Community Nursing. Where appropriate, the service ensures that supplied items are on the dressing formulary. The service can send bulky dressing items directly to a patient's home. 

GP Practices should submit orders with NHS Supply Chain using the CCG Account Details. Accelerate CIC review and authorise orders. 

Eligibility criteria

Inclusions

The service supports GP Practices and Community Nursing. 

Exclusions

Items for the following are excluded from the service:

  • Creams or emollients, scar management, epidermolysis bullosa management
  • Hosiery
  • Dressings for Tracheostomy care,
  • Dermatological conditions such as childhood eczema requiring wet wraps
