HIV Awareness Training

It's thought that around 106,200 people are living with HIV in the UK. With HIV now being a manageable long-term health condition, we have the tools and resources to prevent the onward transmission of HIV. However, around 5000 people in the UK are unaware that they're living with HIV.

This training session will give you the up to date knowledge to talk openly and confidently about HIV. We'll cover:

  • Positive East services
  • What is HIV?
  • Transmission and preventing HIV beyond condoms
  • Who is impacted by HIV?
  • Addressing HIV stigma, fear and barriers to accessing care
  • Treatment and supporting people living with HIV
  • Having conversations about HIV
