Online contraceptive service via SHL (Sexual Health London)

Residents of Hackney and the City aged 16+ can access free contraception online via SHL (Sexual Health London), in partnership with LloydsPharmacy. By registering/ logging in to the website, they are directed to the contraception page, where they will find a range of methods available, including Emergency Hormonal Contraception, Progesterone-only pill, and the Combined-only pill.

Service users will be asked a few questions to assess what they might need and whether it is medically suitable for them. They can then choose from a range of contraceptives to order online, and a pregnancy test and condoms are supplied with emergency contraception. Before the order is completed, individuals will receive a full online consultation that will be reviewed by a clinician and any issues raised. Contraceptives can be collected from a LloydsPharmacy branch or some Sainsbury’s stores, or they can be delivered to the individual’s home.

Anyone requiring LARC will need to refer to Homerton’s sexual health service or visit their GP.
