The Planned Care workstream are working with local charity Hoxton Health to provide an interim catch up and support service, for COVID-19 vulnerable City and Hackney residents, providing non-clinical foot care (nail cutting).
These residents may be shielding and in particularly vulnerable groups. They are likely to be over 70 and living alone with little or no family support.
The service will help to keep them mobile while health services return to some form of normality and there is capacity to provide broader community support.
NOTE: Clients are charged £15 for each session, as this is not an NHS provided service.
The contributions support the ongoing care for clients; however, it will be waived in some circumstances
A regular weekly clinic will be run at St Leonards Hospital and we are looking for a GP practice to host in the North or East of the borough. Contact River Calveley at the CCG if your practice is interested.
Home Visits are available if the patient is especially vulnerable – let them know when you refer if this is appropriate.
- City and Hackney registered patients/residents deemed as vulnerable:
- Over 55, living alone or a carer – at risk of mobility issues or falls
- No serious foot pathology management eg vascular, neurological or surgical issues
- If in doubt about a patient/client the referrer should seek advice from the Homerton Foot Health service Tel: 020 7684 4046/4347
