Who needs this service?

  • Elderly residents – the prevalence of age-related untreated hearing loss ranges from 35-94% from aged 60 years onwards.
  • Those who require hearing aid support such as hearing aid fitting and maintenance e.g. replacement of batteries, tubing and ear moulds providing by the audiology service or cleaning aids and advice
  • Accessible services for general adult population who have not yet had a hearing check, therefore preventing long-term hearing loss
  • Raising awareness of hearing loss and services that can provide support and information within the community

Eligibility criteria

Inclusions

All NHS hearing aid users who need after care for their aids and patients who require information on all aspects of hearing loss, who are registered with a GP practice within the City and Hackney locality.

No appointment needed.
