Health Services Laboratories (HSL) will provide a cervical screening service for the whole of London from 2nd December 2019.

This service will operate within the NHS Cervical Screening Programme and is a partnership of the Royal Free, UCLH and London North West University Hospital NHS Trust.

Cervical Screening Tests will be ordered via tQuest. You will need to set up the service on tQuest as the service is independent from Homerton. Find the tQuest setup sheet in the Downloads section for instructions on how to do this.

Samples will be collected via an HSL courier and not by the Homerton Service. We understand that having more than one set of couriers collecting samples can be challenging for practices. This decision was taken at a London wide level and not by the CCG or Homerton.

It is important that all cervical smears are placed in the purple CSL bags, and that no other samples are placed in these bags. Any samples sent to CSL in error will be significantly delayed (they will attempt to return them to Homerton pathology). Please also ensure that you do not send cervical smear samples to Homerton pathology.

More information on the service can be found in the Cervical Screening London Information Sheet in the downloads section.
