Important Update 29 July 2019
This service is no longer accepted referrals
The Macmillan Social Prescribing Service, run from the Bromley By Bow Centre, will cease to operate on 27th September 2019, due to its funding period coming to an end. In order to best support existing clients, the Macmillan Social Prescribing Service will no longer accept new referrals from the 31st July 2019. Clients referred before 31st July 2019 will be offered phone or face-to-face support. The team has been informing current clients regarding this situation.
Macmillan has a number of support services available for people with cancer in the local area such as the Macmillan Information and Support Services at local hospitals and the Macmillan Welfare Benefits Service delivered by Toynbee Hall. Initial advice and information is available from the Macmillan Support Line (0808 808 0000, 7 days a week 8am-8pm) or Macmillan’s website (www.macmillan.org.uk).
Please refer instead to mainstream Social Prescribing services, who are trained to assist with cancer patients.
