Around 15,500 residents will move from legacy benefits like Housing Benefit, Jobseekers Allowance, Income Support, and Employment Support Allowance to Universal Credit. Residents are receiving letters from the DWP and if they don't respond and apply for universal credit within three months they risk losing their benefits.
