Changes to the Wheelchair Service during COVID-19

  • All referrals and repair requests are reviewed by a senior clinician and prioritised according to urgency
  • Urgent assessments/repairs/equipment provision continue as normal
  • Urgent assessments being conducted over the phone or as a home visit
  • All routine referrals/requests are being logged by the service and will be delivered when possible
  • Immediate priorities: supporting hospital discharge, admission avoidance for vulnerable clients, equipment/wheelchair provision for patients who use their chair indoors, supporting attending essential appointments
